Many companies have a mission statement which they staple to the wall and never discuss again. Clif Bar is not one of those companies. They have 5 main aspirations that inform their company decisions: Sustaining their planet, community, people, business, and brands. Sounds like good stuff, right? And they really do their part.
You may have heard that the idea for Clif Bar was born while the founder was on a bike ride. So when it came time to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary, the co-CEOs decided to make it really special and gift all of their employees with a bicycle. Yep, 300+ employees were surprised with a special red PUBLIC bike. As if that’s not awesome enough, each one was personalized with the employee’s name and year they joined the company.

While this is no doubt a very generous gift, I find it even more inspiring that the company found a very tangible way to live up to its aspirations of sustaining the planet, community, and people. To be honest, I want to stock up on Clif Bars now!

All of these photos are from PUBLIC. As you might imagine, they were very excited to take part in this fun project, especially as a company also committed to improving its community. If you think PUBLIC bikes look familiar, it could be because Brooke posted about it here, where she admits she has a big crush on my orange bike. I don’t blame her – it’s awesome. Now I just need to fill my bike basket with Clif Bars in support of this cool company.
