I’m back. With a baby.

Happy New Year, friends! You may have noticed that I was a bit quiet over the last few months of 2012, but I have a very good excuse: I was on maternity leave after welcoming the new love of my life, Graham, into the world on September 14! While taking a little time away from work to feed, change, and generally love every little bit of his cuteness, I managed to still flex my creative chops when it came time to announce Graham’s entrance into the world. The lovely Colleen of Cleanwash Letterpress printed these birth announcements that I designed, and we could not be more thrilled with the final result.

Check out Oh So Beautiful Paper today to see Graham’s birth announcement featured, and check out the Curious & Co. portfolio for more photos of this and several other new projects we wrapped up in 2012. We look forward to working and interacting with you in 2013!

Isabella in Black and White

A few months ago I had the great pleasure of customizing a Claremont Collection invitation design for one of my oldest friends. Denise and I met at the ripe ol’ age of three in nursery school (that’s what we called it back then, not pre-school!). As we grew older, we always ran with different cliques, but still remained friends through the years — we even walked together as commencement partners in our caps and gowns at our high school graduation.

It was an honor to be present on Denise & Jeff’s wedding day in Baltimore, and especially exciting to have a hand in their wedding stationery. Going with a clean and classic black and white color scheme, Denise chose our Isabella design, which perfectly matched her sophisticated and traditional style. We modified the fonts by her request and added a dark gray metallic envelope liner for that extra surprise detail. We simply love how this dapper and classic suite turned out.

Sophie in Clover and Pool

Last summer we customized our Sophie Claremont Collection design for the lovely Jen and Kevin. Their October wedding in Cape May, New Jersey, was filled with beautiful hues of green and Tiffany blue, so we customized our design with Clover and Pool inks to coordinate. To even further suit their day and style, we modified the fonts and replaced the bird design at the bottom with a new monogram, bordered by a subtle checker pattern to play off of the bold checkered floors in their reception venue, Congress Hall. The whole suite was letterpress printed and looked stunning on our double-weight cotton stock.

We loved seeing some photos from Jen and Kevin’s special day to see the big picture of how all the details came together; we may be biased, but we think the invitations set the perfect tone for their wedding day!

Rachel in Gold and Coral

We love seeing how our Claremont Collection clients choose to customize each of our 12 designs — new color combinations breathe a whole new life into each design, every single time. I recently worked with Dana to customize our Rachel suite with gold and a custom coral ink; we also changed the fonts to better suit her formal wedding. You may notice that the text isn’t in English — that’s because Dana is from Switzerland and the entire invitation is in German. A first for Claremont Collection! We are all crazy about how these turned out and we can’t wait to see what unique color combination our next client requests.

Claremont Spotlight: inspired by Isabella

We’re pleased (and, okay — a little teary-eyed) to present the final inspiration board in our Claremont Collection spotlight today. Meet one of our newer additions to the collection, the darling Isabella.

For the girl who has everything — Isabella is classic, understated elegance at its best. A diagonally striped border paired with sophisticated typography set the stage for a simply beautiful affair; the many silver accents inform guests that the evening will be formal and fabulous.
